Fajalauza
There is nothing more emblematic of Granada than the Fajalauza ceramics, an artisanal pottery tradition that has been synonymous with the city of the Alhambra for five centuries. Originating in the Mozarab era, the designs that decorate the ceramic pieces are characterized by gray-blue, bold green, and cobalt blue glazes—hallmarks of Fajalauza ceramics. Still today, local potters in Granada handcraft everyday items such as plates, bowls, and water jugs, as well as stunning tiles, with vibrant, bold patterns that bring joy to any space.
